Is an Extramarital Affair always "Physical" ?

An Extra-marital affair need not always be, Physical. There can be an Emotional Infidelity which crops in eventually. In an emotional affair, one person relies on some other person outside the marriage for their emotional needs.

These kind of affairs are difficult and sometimes don't end because of the Emotional dependence on that X person outside the marriage. This is worst than the Physical Dependence.

Common reasons as to why it occurs?
The growing Emotional distance between Spouses becomes the most important reason and this may occur because of many underlying reasons:
  • The competitive work pressures, which keep either of the spouse away from the home.
  • The distance which is created when there is a power struggle situation, automatically the other person withdraws from the spouse who tries to control.
  • The less reciprocation nature of either of the spouses.
  • And many more nothing specific.

Looking for Solution:
  • First and foremost. Identify the problem and the wish to solve it.
  • Then the means by which u contact that "x" person, keep them at a distance.
  • Start fresh. Look at each of your positives.
  • Take up new hobbies.
  • Take tours with your spouse.
  • Discuss your emotional needs.
  • Be patient with each other and less offending.
  • Remember and re-write your vows.

Remembering of the vows,"the seven vows in the Hindu Marriage" has answers to all the problems.
The seventh vow in that talks about the everlasting companionship and togetherness where in the bride and the bride-groom accept to live like friends, sharing the life's sorrows and joys.

  1. Emotional dependence is just an excuse to be in touch with that x-person!

  2. Why would you want to be in touch with that person?Cos there is an emotional inclination towards him/her,probably he/she would be much easier to talk to.
