"ARE we becoming the Men, we wanted to Marry"

ARE we? Yes, we are. As a woman I am so proud to say it,but I also have certain concerns. This statement has two sides for it. One which we are to be proud of and one which scares us.The proud part being,woman in par with a man ,a world we all, had wished for,prayed for but that's the scary part too.

Why? Before knowing lets see how the word marriage, for women and men has evolved over years.

       Marriage THEN 

•     Poverty-too many kids at home,so child marriage got prevalent.Feeding all of the kids was difficult.So the girl kids were married off early.


•     Security-Once the gal attained the age of fertility,she was seen as a threat by her parents.They thought getting married would protect her from the threats in the society.


•     Society-Supreme Male attitude which existed then.Parents were scared of the society as discussed before.


•     Environment-the way the gal was brought up with no education,she was thought how to manage the household and was also told,that she was meant for only that and was supposed to be below men.
  Marriage of OUR Parents

•      Poverty still remained ,however some part of the women in the society were sent to school for basic education.


•      Security-the attitude remained to be the same as soon as these gals attained the fertility age,they were married off.


•      Society-Supreme Male attitude still existed .


•      Environment-minimum education was given in certain part of the society for women,but were still told that she was supposed to be below men.


•      Love ,affection, care existed but were not expressed and appreciated.
  Marriage NOW

•        Women now are working in par with men.


•        They need a person who respects them and their individuality.


•        Women now are looking at balancing both family and career.


•        Love,Affection and care is expressed and appreciated.


•        Now there are two equals in a marriage.No one is more ,no one is less.
  
  But one thing still remains the same,The Society,which is still stuck to the Male Supreme Attitude.And this part of the crowd are still not ready to accept that marriage or wedding happens or is meant to happen between two equal people.
  
  This attitude has made the empowered women retaliate,which has resulted in a increased number of Divorces.So here what scares us, the empowerment has changed the idea of marriage and if we don't balance it in the right way ,the day is not far when marriages are talked in past.The empowerment of women is good but the society not changing with the current scenario can have negative effects. The attitude of the current lot of women, towards the Marriage is changing exuberantly in a negative way.Youngsters are running away from only, the thought of Marriage.
  
  "A wedding or a marriage is not an arrangement between two unequal's but a marriage of two equal souls which binds, the two different families together and forever.Its a promise to live and enjoy the sorrows and the joys together all life forever".
  
  The sooner the Male Supreme attitude ends ,the sooner the balance will be regained.And marriage will still remain to be beautiful for us and for our children in coming years.
